Friday 12th February

 'Kung Hei Fat Choi'

This is a traditional Chinese New Year greeting meaning, 'Congratulations and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.'  Today is the start of the Chinese New Year and there will be lots of special celebrations taking place in different countries all over the world. 2021 is the Year of the Ox.

I am looking forward to seeing you all at 9.30 for our live chat. Hopefully we will all manage to get online together - don't forget to use the code that you have received via e-mail to join us. Bring your acrostic poem along with you too as I am hoping we will have time to share these with each other.

This meeting will be in our Literacy time so I will not be setting you any Literacy work to complete today. Please try to complete some phonics activities though using the links that you have been given.

We will be having a school Celebration Assembly at 11.45am. Please try and join us for this using the link below.

We are going to link our Maths work today with the special Chinese New Year celebrations. You will need to watch the video link below to find out about the story associated with Chinese New Year that tells us why the years are all named after different animals and the order in which they come. I would then like you to practise using your ordinal numbers and complete the cut and stick worksheet below - putting the animals in the correct order.
