Reception 2020

A BIG welcome to St Austin's.

Starting 'big school' is a huge milestone in every child's life. Despite the current situation, we are determined to offer the very best transition we can to your child before they join us. Sadly, it seems unlikely that we are able to complete our normal transition plans but we have lots of other plans for how we can begin to make links to our key staff and get them to 'see' their learning space. To help with the transition I will use this webpage to keep you up-to-date on the latest guidance and preperation for your child's first big day.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns:

Starting information

- All PE kits to be sent into school.  The children will be getting changed for PE as normal, however, for the first few weeks we will be working on listening and following instructions through dance (as well as getting used to the routines in PE) Therefore, they will only be taking their shoes and socks off.

The children will still be practising their gross motor skills in our outdoor area with our bikes, scooters and climbing frames.

- All stationery equipment will be provided for Reception class.  No pencil cases or equipment will be needed from home.

- Fruit and milk will be provided again in September. Please bring a named water bottle into school each day.

We are very lucky to be having some new furniture in our Reception classroom. As soon as it is in place and the classroom is sorted we will add some photographs of the classroom for you to share with your child.
