Tuesday 1st December
Oh my goodness - it is December! Have you opened the number 1 door on your advent calendar this morning? I know that many of you were also expecting a visit from your elf on the shelf in December. I hope (s)he hasn't got up to too much mischief already! I would love to hear all about it when we are back at school.
Speaking of being back at school....... could I ask you all to bring an empty, clean, dry, plastic bottle to school with you on Friday. We will be using them to try and make some musical instruments. I hope that you have enough time to find one!
Don't forget your phonics learning today. Keep up all the good work - you will be able to show us everything that you have learnt when we are back at school on Friday.
For your Literacy, I would like you start by reading through the story of Bob the Bubble again with your grown up. Then see if you can answer the questions in 'Quiz Time' on Page 8. Don't worry about writing the answers down; I just want you to tell your grown ups the answer but make sure you use a full sentence to answer the question. Next - have a look at the vocabulary pages (9 and 10) and check that you understand these words by completing the suggested activities. Finally I would like you to cut out (page 11) or make your own puppets and use them to retell the story. Maybe you could practise and then perform your show for someone in your house? I hope you enjoy doing this.
If you get chance, watch this story today - it is about another animal that wanted to be different...
Tuesday is our ICT and Geography day!
For your Geography work I would like you to remind yourself about the 'changes in seasonal weather patterns in the UK.' Today is the first day in December - Winter is definitely with us now! Watch the BBC Bitesize video clip below and then see if you can complete the activity and quiz that follows.
And finally ....... for your ICT work I would like you to log onto your Purple Mash account and complete the allocated activities on there. I know that lots of you have been busy putting up your Christmas decorations this weekend so I have given you a Christmas tree to decorate. I wonder what decorations you will put on yours? There is also a winter jigsaw for you to complete. It is tricky - you will need to persevere and keep trying! - but I know that you can do it!
Hope you have fun!
