Tuesday 26th January

Hi. I hope you have all enjoyed your long weekend. We will be joining the Mass live from St Austin's today at 10.00am. Please join us if you are able to using the link below.

You will all have received phonics links for today so please complete your phonics learning using these.

In our Literacy this week we are basing our writing around this terms' vehicle for learning - 'All Creatures Great and Small.' We will be learning all about lots of different types of animals over the term - focussing this week on mammals. We have already learnt a bit about a very special type of mammal - humans. This work ties in with work in many other subject areas - in particular with our Science work. Today, I would like you to find out, 'What is a mammal?' Watch the BBC Bitesize video below and see how many mammals you can think of. Write a list of all the ones you can think of - using your phonic knowledge to help you to spell the words. Remember when we are writing a list we do not need to use punctuation and we write the items down one under the other on our page. I wonder how many you can think of? Let me know and I will tell you has thought of the most with tomorrows work.

In our Maths today we are completing our work using White Rose on comparing number sentences. Watch the video link below and then see if you can answer the questions on the worksheet.

Spr1.4.4 - Compare number sentences

This is "Spr1.4.4 - Compare number sentences" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

For today's ICT I have allocated you a couple of activities to complete on Purple Mash linking to animals. Before you complete these you may like to watch the BBC Bitesize video about reptiles. I have put the link for this below. After completing the 2 activities in your To Do folder I would like you to go to the art section on your Purple mash account, look in the animals section and choose a picture of a type of mammal to colour. Have fun!
And finally for today I have some poems that I would like to share with you. They are all about different types of mammals. I hope you like them as much as I do!
