Wednesday 13th Jan

I hope you are getting on OK with your phonics learning this week. Just think how many sounds you now know and how fantastic you are getting with your reading and writing now! Keep up the good work :-).

In Literacy today I would like you to start by seeing if you can answer the Quiz time questions on page 9. You do not have to write the answers down but make sure you use a full sentence when telling your grown up the answer. For your written task, I would like you to make up your own Pixie factfile (see page 15).

For our Maths today we are going to consolidate our knowledge of the number bonds to 10. It is really important that we are familiar with these and can recall them quickly. We are not using our Power Maths books today - so watch the video link and complete the questions on the sheet below. I have also attached an additional sheet if you want to challenge yourself to complete this one as quickly as you can!

Aut1.6.4 - Number bonds to 10

This is "Aut1.6.4 - Number bonds to 10" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

In school today we are going to be doing our History. We are learning about some famous people called the Wright brothers. They are famous because they invented something very important over 100 years ago. Look at the powerpoint slides below and see if you can find out what they were famous for, then look at the following pictures to see how things have changed over time since then. See if you can write a sentence (or two!) to tell me what you have found out about the Wright brothers.
You could then have a go at making your own paper aeroplane - see page 29 of Pippety Skycap.
