Welcome to Year 5!

Welcome to Autumn term.

As always if you wish to discuss any aspect of the Year 5 curriculum or any issues regarding your child please contact the school office to arrange an appointment either by phone or email:

Routines:

-Doors open at 8.40am for a prompt start at 8.45am. Year 5 finish at 3.20pm.

-Reading books and reading diaries must be in school every day

-PE will be on Tuesday and Thursday (please come in your PE kit on these days- earrings must be taken out). For the Autumn term, PE will be swimming at the Leisure centre.

-Pupils who are travelling independently may bring a phone. All phones will be turned off and stored in the class phone box, in the office, until the end of the day.

-Spellings will be given on a Monday.

-Homework will be given on a Friday of the following week it is given. It will be on this web page and paper copies can be given.

Homework- given on 17thOctober - due in 23rd October

Maths- Complete the arithmetic paper- in pink folders- show working

English-Reading comprehension- this is from an old KS2 SAT's paper. Short answers for 1 mark questions, longer answers or 2 point in the 2 mark questions.

History- Create a piece of work about Black History Month. For Year 5, it should be focused on Martin Luther King. This is HALF-TERM homework and can be given in when we come back from the break.

There will be no spellings this week due to half term
