Welcome to Spring term.

As always if you wish to discuss any aspect of the Year 5 curriculum or any issues regarding your child please contact the school office to arrange an appointment either by phone or email:

Routines:

-Doors open at 8.40am for a prompt start at 8.45am. Year 5 finish at 3.20pm.

-Reading books and reading diaries must be in school every day

-PE will be on Tuesday and Friday (please come in your PE kit on these days- earrings must be taken out). 

-Pupils who are travelling independently may bring a phone. All phones will be turned off and stored in the class phone box, in the office, until the end of the day.

-Spellings will be given on a Monday.

-Homework will be given on a Friday of the following week it is given. It will be on this web page and paper copies can be given.

Curriculum Content for Spring 2026

English- Narrative- setting description, persuasive advert, recount

Maths- Multiplication and division, percentages and decimals, perimeter and area, graphs and tables.

Science- Living things

History- Ancient Greece

Geography- Earthquakes and volcanoes

Designs and Technology- Food and nutrition

Art- Alberto Giacometti

RE- Baptism, Lent, Holy Week

PE- Gymnastics Netball

Homework- w/c 2nd March 2026 to be completed by Thursday, 12th March.

History- It is Women's history month- I would like the children to research a significant female figure in history- please display this creatively- Poster, Biography etc.
