What have Year 1 been up to this week?
Fri 05 Jun 2020Lots of their learning this week has been themed around spiders. They have enjoyed threading their own spiders webs and making spiders to live in them.
The also went on a spider hunt in the school grounds and found lots of webs but no spiders!

What have our Reception children been up to?
Fri 05 Jun 2020Reception Class have enjoyed seeing their friends again this week. They have happily engaged in activities both indoors and outdoors and have settled into their new routine brilliantly. -
What have Year 3 been up to?
Fri 05 Jun 2020Year 3 have continued with their Egyptian learning in the afternoons!
They have created some fantastic art using hieroglyphs for their names. Shravni even decided to get dressed up as Cleopatra!

Celebrating Gawai
Fri 05 Jun 2020Danny from year 3 celebrated Gawai on Monday of this week (at a social distance).
Gawai is an annual festival celebrated by the Dayak people of Sarawak, Malaysia (this is where Danny's grandpa is from).
They enjoyed lots of lovely food and drink, listened to music and talked about friends and family.

Power in me Singing Challenge
Fri 05 Jun 2020Well done to Frank who took part in the Young Voices “Power in Me” live performance at home this week!
Over the past few weeks he has really enjoyed learning the song with his mum and sister and they had great fun performing it together!

What have our Key Worker group been up to this week?
Fri 05 Jun 2020Our key worker group have enjoyed learning about Pentecost this week. The children created some beautiful artwork and had a lovely prayer service where they offered their intentions up to God.

Young Voices #PowerInMe Singing Challenge
Fri 29 May 2020On 2nd June 2020 2.30pm - you are invited along with families and children from across the world to pay tribute to all teachers by joining together to sing “The Power in Me” from the safety of your own homes.
You can register your involvement at youngvoices.co.uk/powerinme to access free learning resources for the song. More importantly - we are asking you to share this email with your parents and children to get them directly involved.
Between now and 2nd June, you are also encouraged to take part in the #PowerInMe singing challenge and to film yourselves singing the song’s lyrics “I've got the Power In Me" and post it online with the hashtag to see who responds completing the song’s chorus "You’ve got the Power in You!".

Music Makes us Happy!
Wed 20 May 2020Entrust, our music provider has launched the first in a series of ‘isolation orchestra’ videos this week, which will eventually include music service staff, school music leads and pupils. If your child already participates in wind instrument / guitar lessons then they may want to look out for their music teacher!!

The first video starts with some of the music service team and is the start of a weekly feature on the Entrust social media sites as well as on YouTube.
If your child is interested in commencing music lessons then they will be given the opportunity to experience a sample lesson at the beginning of the school year (2020/2021). Guitar lessons are open to pupils in Years 3 to 6. Wind instrument (flute and clarinet) lessons are open to pupils in Years 4 to 6.
