Welcome to Year One! I am so excited to see you all September and hear all about your Summers! We have a busy and fun filled Autumn term ahead of us while we settle into our new class and routines!

Spellings!

I am sharing the spelling list for Year One. These are words which the children should be able to confidently read and spell by the end of the year. We will be practicing these in class but please continue this at home as well!

Forest School!

I am so excited for our Forest School sessions this year! Forest School is outdoor education that focuses on developing and encouraging your child in all aspects of their growth and skills. It is a hands-on learning approach where children will be able to use tools, build shelters and play in the outdoor environment.

Year One will have Forest School sessions every other week. Please ensure that your child brings their Forest School kit in each week as we will be outside in all weathers (except high winds and thunder storms).

Class Reminders

Doors open at 8.40am for a prompt start at 8.45am for the children's first lesson.
Year 1 finish at 3.20pm.
PE and Forest School will rotate on a bi-weekly basis. This will be on a Wednesday.
On a PE and Forest School day, children should come to school in their PE kit and earrings sahould be removed.
Children will need to bring their Forest School kit with them in a separate bag and everything labelled.
Can all PE kits and uniforms be labelled with your child's name.
Homework is handed out on a Friday and due back in on a Wednesday.
