Art and Design Curriculum
Here is some of the Art-work the children have completed lately.
The Reception children have been busy mixing colours, exploring texture and using a variety of resources to draw, paint and sculpt.
In the Autumn term year 1 were looking at work by Henri Matisse and have explored drawing, painting and collage.
In the Spring term Year 1 are studying sculpture Barbra Hepworth and will be given the opportunity to sculpt an abstract sculpture.
Year 2 have been learning about the artist Vincent Van Gough and have explored drawing, painting and collage in order to produce self-portraits in the pointillism style.
In the Spring term Year 2 will be studying the artist David Hockney and will working towards creating an oil painting in his unique style.
In the Autumn Term Year 3 studied the sculpture Sir Antony Gormley. They explored a range of skills progressing towards producing a body form sculpture.
In the Spring Term Year 3 are studying the artist Andy Warhol and will develop drawing and painting skills in order to create an icon portrait.
In the Autumn Term Year 4 studied the artist Claude Monet and explored drawing and painting using his unique style.
In the Spring Term year 4 are studying the artist Stephen Wilshire and will be developing drawing skills working towards producing their own cityscape.
In the Autumn term Year 5 studied LS Lowry developing skills in drawing and painting whilst working towards producing their own landscape.
In the Spring term Year 5 are studying the artist Alberto Giacometti and will develop skills in drawing, painting and movement through sculpture.
In the Autumn term year 6 studied the artist Auguste Rodin and experimented with a range of drawing and painting techniques. They also evaluated the craft works of William Morris.
In the Spring Term year 6 are studying the artist Leonardo Da Vinci and will develop drawing and painting skills working towards their own painted self-portrait.

Vincent Van Gogh (1853 -1890)
Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch painter who painted many well known pictures.
Banksy
Banksy is an anonymous England based street artist. He has been active since the 1990's.
Pablo Picasso (1881 -1973)
Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theater designer. Many of paintings were very recognisable.
Andy Goldsworthy ( born in 1956)
Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces sculptures and landmarks in natural and urban settings.
William Morris (1834 - 1896)
William Morris was British textile designer, poet and novelist who designed many wallpapers and textile patterns.
