World Book Day 2024

The theme for this year's World Book Day was 'Bedtime Stories'. Children were encouraged to dress up in the pyjamas and bring in a bed time story book that they enjoy.

Throughout the day, there were lots of lovely activities going on throughout the school. In the morning, we joined together for an assembly, where Father Michael shared with us the book of the Bible and its importance.

In KS1, children turned toilet roll tubes into different characters from their favourite story books. They created wonderful characters from Harry Potter to Stick Man! KS2 enjoyed activities such as book quizzes, book reviews and designing book covers. The whole school took part in a bookmark design competition, to encourage Stafford to read. They came up with some fantastic designs in each class, including book characters, quotes from books and the fact that they love reading.

At some point throughout the day, parents were invited into each class to share books with their children and take part in different activities, all focused on encouraging a love of reading. A huge thank you to all of the friends and family who joined us to create these lovely memories for the children.
