Year 2

Hello!  Welcome to Class 2's Home Learning page.

jcleary@st-austins.staffs.sch.uk - please email if you have any questions about Year 2 work.

Only three more weeks until the end of term!  I am so sorry that our year ended so abruptly and that I didn't get to actually teach you for such a long time.  I am so disappointed about that! You and your parents have all worked so hard to continue with your learning at home and I'm so impressed and proud of you all.  You will have seen in the letter sent out on Friday, that Miss Vaz will be your teacher next year.  You will love being in her class as she had loads of really exciting and interesting lessons up her sleeve!

Maths- This morning I have set up some games to practise your 2s, 3s or 5 times tables.  Be careful though- when we tried it at home the snake wasn't very good at responding to my instructions! Malachy thought it was really funny!

English- I'm interested to find out what you've all been up to since Friday.  Write or type me a postcard...you can make it up if you like! Just be careful with your spelling!

Afternoon- In Science we have been learning about plants.  If you have a garden, have a look and see if any Spring flowers are in bloom and make an observational drawing of one (or more than one!) An observational drawing is where you spend more time looking than anything else and draw exactly what you see, not what you think you see! I will try to work out how to upload some photos of the flowers in my garden in case you don't have any.
