Autumn Curriculum

Hear the Call- Take Action!

Throughout the year our Y6 pupils will be preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation and our vehicle is inspired by this. During Confirmation, the children will receive the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, to help them hear the voice of God and act in his name.

This term the children will think about how their actions can positively impact on others. They will complete a variety of activities and challenges that will positively impact on the school, parish and local community.

Highlights from our learning this term

Vehicle Challenge 1: Making a positive impact to others in school

Year 6 have been paired up with reception class so each child has a buddy to help guide them throughout the year. It was lovely to see the children getting to know each other, playing so nicely and sharing a story together too! laugh

Vehicle Challenge 2: Come Dine With Me

Year 6 designed, prepared, cooked and served a 3 course meal to their parents on the last day before Half term. It was a huge success and was lovely to see the parents and children enjoying time in school together.

Vehicle Challenge 3: Helping the local community (litter picking)

Year 6 have had a busy afternoon completing another challenge for their vehicle- Hear the Call; Take Action! They completed a litter pick around school with their buddies and then headed out into the local community. They collected lots of rubbish which will have a positive impact for those in the local community. Well done and thank you to “The Litter Heroes” for use of their equipment!
