Thursday (07.05.20)

Hello! Today is our last day of school work this week as we have a special Bank Holiday tomorrow in remembrance of VE Day. Our work today is themed around this to help us to learn a little bit more about it.

Don't forget your Phonics learning today. Yesterday we learnt the split digraph 'o-e'. See if you can do a couple of pages in your Phonics Buster book today too.

For your Literacy work, you will find a VE Day Reading comprehension sheet below. Try to read as much of the information sheet and questions as you can yourself - but don't worry if you need a little help.

In our Maths today, we are practising adding by counting on. We have already tried this in class so I think you will be good at this! Watch the video clip and then answer the questions below.

Year 1 - Week 3 - Lesson 4 - Add more and count on within 20 on

This is "Year 1 - Week 3 - Lesson 4 - Add more and count on within 20 on" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people...

And finally for today there are two activities that you could choose from. You might like to make yourself some VE day bunting to decorate your home using the template below or using any pieces of red, white and blue fabric/paper that you may have. Or you could make yourself a paper aeroplane to fly outside (instructions are below). You may even like to try and decorate it with some of the markings seen on a Spitfire (see the attached picture below).

Whichever activity you choose, I hope you enjoy it and have fun!
