Week 9 (8.6.20

A huge well done to those of you still completing all the work at home.  Miss Greatholder and I love seeing all of your fab work and we are very proud of you.

This week we are continuing with Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Our classroom has various activities for the children to complete related to this story, so here are some of the things for you to try (as well as the attached sheets below):

  • Make a cottage from your choice of construction (Lego, stickle brick, cardboard boxes etc.)
  • Playdough, have a go at making the three bowls, chairs and beds. (make sure they are different sizes)
  •  Make some porridge and add your own flavours on the top, what is your favourite?

Alongside the lessons/activities, we are focussing on Phonics and reading, to ensure the children are ready for year 1. Please continue to use Oxford Owl to read with your child regularly and complete the phonics videos attached in the phonic sections on the ‘Reception Home Learning Page.’

At school, we have also completed an assessment sheet to see what sounds the children need to work on next.  We can then recap or focus on these sounds to ensure there are no gaps.

Below are the assessment sheets is you would like to check your own child’s phonics (phase 2 and 3, then a phase 4 and 5 mat if needed)
