Summer Term Week 7 (08.6.20)

Summer Term- Week 7 (8.6.20):

We will be doing TWO LIVE LESSONS each day.

ENGLISH- 9:30-10:30am

BREAK- 10:30-10:50am

MATHS- 11-12

I will post the link to join the lesson on 'google classroom' 10 minutes before it starts.

Please remember to turn off your microphone and camera before you join the meeting!

If you miss the live lesson, please still try and complete the work for that day.

I will continue to post flip charts / power points / videos / worksheets on the website for you!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reading:

Read theory: try to complete 1 or 2 of the comprehension activities each day.

I AM AWARE THAT AS YOU COMPLETE THESE ACTIVITIES THEY START TO GET HARDER AND SOMETIMES THE VOCABULARY IS BECOMING VERY ADVANCED / TRICKY.

If this is the case, and they are now too hard then please don't worry too much about completing the activities.

You could access Oxford Owl instead and do 15mins reading OR read one of your own books at home!

Remember it is extremely important to read a little bit every day!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE STARTING TO LEARN ABOUT TIME IN OUR LESSONS.

IT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL IF YOUR CHILD HAS A CLOCK THEY CAN MANIPULATE.

HERE ARE SOME TEMPLATES THAT ARE EASY TO MAKE (IF WE WERE IN SCHOOL I WOULD HAVE MADE THE PAPER PLATE ONE WITH THE CHILDREN).

PLEASE TRY AND MAKE ONE THIS WEEK IF YOU GET CHANCE!

THANKSlaugh

Afternoon Activities:

HISTORY:

This week I would like you to create an information poster about King Tutankhamun (Tut).

To do this you will need to do some research.

I have included some ideas for you on the word document and there is a list of good websites!

GEOGRAPHY:

You are going to find out more about tectonic plates and the "Ring of Fire" this week.

Work through the PowerPoint slides and then have a go at the activity!

SCIENCE:

Our new Science topic is all about "Rocks and Soil".

This week I would like you to learn about the difference between natural / man-made rocks.

Work through the PowerPoint slides, see what rocks you can spot and then have a go at sorting the rocks into the correct category.

(you might want to check you answers on the internet if you are unsure!)

ART:

This week I would like you to create your own piece of artwork that says thank you to our key workers for everything they have done during the Coronavirus pandemic.

You could paint / collage / draw and colour (whatever you like)

Once you have created your artwork you might choose to display it on your house window (just like you did with your rainbows when the pandemic began!)

MUSIC:

In this weeks music lesson you will learn to "sing a major scale".

Follow the link to the Oak National Academy lesson and have fun! (CLICK HERE)
