Spring Term Week 2 (30.3.20)

Week 2 (30.3.20)

I would like to start by saying a massive well done to you all last week (children and parents)!

I know that starting online learning was a tough challenge for us all but you all completed some AMAZING work, and even though we are not in class together, you are all making me a VERY PROUD TEACHER every day!

PLEASE NOTE: FRIDAY IS AN INSET DAY SO NO WORK WILL BE SET.

WE WILL NOT BE SETTING WORK OVER THE EASTER HOLIDAYS.

IF YOU ARE STUCK FOR IDEAS THE CHILDREN COULD DO SOME ACTIVITIES OUT OF THE HOME LEARNING PACK THEY TOOK HOME.

Some suggested afternoon activities:

  • ART- Make an Easter card
  • Music- Make a song about chocolate to a nursery rhyme tune (e.g. twinkle twinkle). If you do this you could record a video and upload it to class dojo!
  • DT- Cook something with your family (this could be chocolatey or something else!)
  • Science- draw and label some plants / flowers in your garden OR copy pictures of plants online
  • Create a poster or poem about Easter on Purple Mash (type in Easter poster for a template) or on paper

Once you have completed these tasks feel free to take a picture and upload them on class dojo OR email them to me so I can take a look: PVaz@st-austins.staffs.sch.uk

Monday (30.3.20):

9-9.30am: Joe Wick's live fitness workout (YouTube- The Body Coach)

English- To make notes about an endangered animal.

Today I would like you to do some research about the endangered animal the Sumatran Orangutan.

I would like you to record your research in bullet points on a mind map (English book). You will then use these notes to create a detailed fact file tomorrow (just like we did when we made one about Hindu Gods)

Try and find out about:

-appearance (what they look like)
-diet

-habitat

-why they are close to extinction

-interesting facts

I have created an example mind map template below that you could copy into your English book.

Once you are done please upload a picture to class dojo!

Unit and non-unit fractions.

Please click this link (https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/)

Don't panic about printing the sheet, if it says shade an amount of a shape then the children can draw it in their maths book.

Tuesday (31.3.20):
