Good morning Year 5 please find you home seats and be ready to learn! 

 

Live Lesson Streaming!

After Easter Year 5 will be start to have their lessons 'live' everyday.  We will be using Google Classroom to host the learning and pupils will get daily codes via the website/email to allow them access to the lesson. It will mean that lessons will take place at set times and the children will need to be on a device to access them.  The lessons can be accessed through a phone, tablet or laptop and the work from the lessons will be returned in the same way we are returning work now e.g. photographs, Class Dojo, Purple Mash.  By going live it will allow the children to interact with me, check misconceptions in real time and work with different groups at times during the lesson.  I am planning on having a trial with this later in the week so I will prepare information sheets to help you login.

 

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions:

-How do I access Class Dojo? You should have all received an invite from Class Dojo (please check clutter and junk) to allow you to activate your parental account.  By doing this you will get access to a messenging service that comes directly to me. Also you will be able to see the points your child is collecting for working hard and participating in challenges. You child can just click on the student link and use the latest class code which can be found on the home learning page under the class Dojo clipboard icon.

Suggested Timetable

Here is a suggested outline for you day – but it is up to you and your family when and how you complete the tasks for the day – don’t forget to submit them!

9-9.30 PE with Joe Wicks (link is on the school Facebook or just google!)

9.30-9.40 Have a drink and set yourself up for your home learning.

9.40-10.10 Reading Theory – Please complete two sessions - My teacher view tells me which days you go on so please try and go on each day rather than doing 6 at once!

10.10-10.20 Break time – Have a healthy snack and drink and if possible try and get some fresh air remember to keep to social distancing rules.

10.20-11.00 Complete the Maths that you find in the Maths folder below.

11-11.10 Do a job to help those at home

11.10-12.00 Complete the English that you find in the English folder below.
