-Create a piece of artwork about the Rain forest (this could be a sketch, collage, painting, online art or whatever you can think of!)

-Create an information poster about saving the Rain forest (think about what we have learnt in class / do some of your own research first, plan it one day, then create it the next!)

-You might also like to try some of the creative challenges on our home learning page (Lego / Indoors challenges)

Once you have completed these tasks feel free to take a picture and upload them on class dojo OR email them to me so I can take a look: PVaz@st-austins.staffs.sch.uk

Tuesday (24.3.20):

9-9.30am: Joe Wick's live fitness workout (YouTube- The Body Coach)

English- Chocolate room description.

Write me a detailed description of an imaginary chocolate room. We mind mapped lots of ideas using our senses last week so try to include these. Can you make it exciting using expanded noun phrases, different sentence types, similes and alliteration?

Reading-

Read theory: try to complete 1 or 2 of the comprehension activities each day.

Maths-

Daily times tables Monster Multiplication game (warm up!)

Numbers to 1000- compare and order.

If you finish this quickly, in your maths book can you create 10 of your own number sentences?

Choose 2 3-digit numbers (if you have dice at home you could roll it to choose the digits) and use greater than and less than symbols. (E.g. 587 > 563)

Wednesday (25.3.20):

9-9.30am: Joe Wick's live fitness workout (YouTube- The Body Coach)

English- Persuasive FairTrade Poster

Create a poster on Purple Mash to put around St Austin's encouraging people to buy fair trade products. Use your knowledge about what we learnt about FairTrade and chocolate (I have attached the powerpoint below to remind you). Also think about persuasive features. Can you use: exaggeration, rhetorical questions and emotive language?

Reading-

Read theory: try to complete 1 or 2 of the comprehension activities each day.

Maths-

Adding HTO + O. This activity should help you practise mental maths (in your head), as well as written strategies. I would like you to complete the questions on the screen and represent them in your Maths book as:

-a bar model

-base ten (draw hundreds, tens sticks, ones)

-column method

Once you have done this you may be able to upload it on class dojo! (don't worry if you can't)

Thursday (26.3.20):

9-9.30am: Joe Wick's live fitness workout (YouTube- The Body Coach)

English- Prepositions & Conjunctions.

There are 2 activities today. A quiz game on Purple Mash and then a worksheet. Children need to copy and complete the sentences from the worksheet into their English books. I have then given instructions on how to send this to me.

Reading- Read Theory

Please try and complete 1 or 2 activities on Read Theory (some of you haven't logged on yet...let me know if you need help)

Maths-

Daily times tables Monster Multiplication game (warm up!)

Bar Charts (Purple Mash). Please complete the questions on bar charts. This should be a recap of the work we did in class a few weeks ago. Remember when it says "How many more...?" that you need to find the difference (subtract)

Friday morning (27.3.20):

9-9.30am: Joe Wick's live fitness workout (YouTube- The Body Coach)

English- Write a letter to Willy Wonka to thank him for the factory day.

Pretend you are Charlie (first person!) Remember to use the features of a letter: opener, introduction, paragraphs, first person, time conjunctions, letter ending.
If you want to write it on paper, rather than type, then upload to dojo then you can! Enjoy :)

Maths-

Daily times tables Monster Multiplication game (warm up!)

Column method addition.

I have set you some questions on Purple Mash. I would like you to solve them in your maths book and then type to answers on the screen (over the gold ?). If you get it right then the answer will appear.

You can upload your working out in the maths folder on Purple Mash.

Reading- Read Theory

Please complete 1/2 activities to help with your comprehension.
