Super me! & Lets Celebrate

                         

 

During this vehicle we will be learning all about ourselves and how SUPER we are! We will be looking at our families, homes and how we are all different and unique.

 

Some of the things we will be covering:

  • Literacy/Communication and language – reading and discussing stories about me and families.
  • Personal, social and emotional – making new friends, following routines and instructions
  • Maths- numbers to 5, comparing to 5, number bonds to 5
  • Physical – Holding a pencil correctly, using our body in different ways
  • Understanding the world- how our body grows and changes (baby toddler, adult)
  • Expressive arts and design- painting/making faces

Books we are reading this half term: 

 

     

 

Superhero day - Tuesday 4th October.  Come to school dressed up as a superhero.  Parents please be as creative as possible, a simple homemade mask and cloak will be brilliant, we can't wait to enjoy the day with all of our superheroes!

RE: People who help us and Advent/Christmas 

EAD -  performance (Nativity) and making pictures using natural materials 

KUW - Celebrations (Diwali and birthdays), Autumn 

CLL/Literacy - identification and Formation of initial sounds

Maths - Shape, Change within 5 

PSHE - I am me

PD - Dance 

 

We are reading lots of books including:

 

                                         

 

Remembrance Day

Reception Class have joined in with a class liturgy related to Remembrance Day.  They thought carefully about those who have died and thanked God for peace in the world.
