Year 2 - Stafford Castle Trip

In Year 2 we visited Stafford Castle as part of our recount writing in English and continuing our learning of the history of Stafford. The children were able to explore the castle grounds, discussing how the castle would have been when it was first built. We learnt that the Castle was first made out of wood, but it has been knocked down and rebuilt many times, and how the soldiers would try and defend the castle! Children were also able to dress up in the armour and clothes of the time, they all had such a fantastic day!
