Art and Design Curriculum

Art and Design at St Austin's...

At St. Austin’s Primary School we want every child to be happy and enthusiastic learners of Art & design, and to be eager to achieve their very best in order to fulfil their God-given talents. We firmly believe that the recipe for success is high quality first-wave teaching in Art & design, which is central to the life of our happy, caring school.

At St.Austin's we love art and we always strive to do our best. Here is some of the work that we have been doing recently.

Year 3 have been looking at some paintings by Henri Rousseau and drawing their own interpretations of his work.

Year 5 have been looking at work by William Morris and have been designing, making and printing their own patterns.

Year 1 have looked at some work by the artist Andy Goldsworthy and have made their own outdoor pictures and sculptures.
Year 6 have used the work of a range of artists, including Lowri and Banksy, to look at changes over time. They have designed and created their own pieces of art based on their curriculum vehicle, 'A New Norm.'

Do you have a special talent for art?
