Summer holidays

Have some fantastic fun and new adventures with your family and friends during the holidays but also remember to find some time to keep practising all what you have recently learnt.

It is really important that the children keep reinforcing their learning over the past few weeks to support them ready for September.

On Tapestry we have added your child's final assessment for phonics and their high frequency words, please continue to work on these, I have added some fun ways of continuing to practise learning these. Remember to use the 'Mr Mc' phonics videos, these are brilliant for teaching the sounds.  You can pick the particular ones your child needs to work on and they are fun and interactive (you can enjoy a cup of tea while Mr Mc entertains the children for 20 minutes!)

The children will also start to work on larger number in Year 1 so it is important to consolidate their numbers to 20, ensuring they can order and use (add, subtract, one more/less) them. After that they can work on number bonds to 10 and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
