English - Today, is our last lesson on the Little Shoemaker. For your final piece of work, I would like you to create an advert for his shop. You could create a newspaper advert, or you may choose to even create your own radio or TV advert, the choice is yours, be creative! You can upload to dojo or email it to me. I will put a template on purple mash too in case you wish to use that. Remember, when you do an advert for somewhere, you only mention positive things!

English - https://www.literacyshed.com/war-and-peace-shed.html

With it being VE Day this week, I thought I would base our English this week around the war. Please click the link and watch the 1st video on the page called 'The Blitz'. Some of you may recognise the title The Blitz from your History timeline. This was when many bombs were dropped during the night on the UK by German planes. Today, I would like you to watch the video, then imagine that you were a child during the war hearing all of this happen outside, maybe you are safe in your air raid shelter down the bottom of your garden if you're lucky! I would like you to write a diary entry as a child experiencing this during the night. Think of the emotions you would be feeling. I would also like you to try and include the 5 senses like we do in class!

This can be handwritten, typed or put on the purple mash template.

English - We are still looking at the Blitz video today, the link is on Tuesday's English work if needed.

Today, I would like you to create a descriptive piece of writing of the sky and surrounding area during the bombing. You could describe broken down buildings that have already been bombed or where you are staying safe. You could use similes such as the sky was as dark as a haunted mansion, expanded noun phrases to help you describe, it is up to you! The more language features the better. I will pop some example cards below to help you.

Maths

Today you will be dividing 2 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers. Remember, division is the opposite to times. You can still use your times table knowledge to help you do this! I have uploaded the work sheet and answers below for you. Please remember to send me a picture of your work!

English - Live lesson via google classroom at 1pm

Today, I would like you to create a newspaper report for back in 1940/1941 at the time of the blitz. You could report on how we are doing during the war, the damage to buildings in somewhere like London because of the bombings, what it is like in an air raid shelter, the choice is yours! I have put a template on purple mash that you can use if you wish. I have also included some prompt cards below for what to include.
